What participants say after their sessions.
Real feedback from households in Kuching and Sarawak who have worked through their records with Penserve.

I had three drawers of documents I had been avoiding for years. After the session, everything was in labelled folders and I actually knew where my insurance policies were for the first time in a long time. The guide they gave me was clear enough that I could carry on myself.
My wife and I did the household workshop together before I retired. The team was patient β we had a lot of questions, and they answered what they could and were honest about what was outside their scope. We left with a binder that our son can follow if he ever needs to help us with anything.
I did the visit by video since I am not in Kuching. It worked well β they sent the guide by courier and it arrived the next day. I would have liked a bit more time on the session, but I understand they keep to a specific scope. The labelling system they suggested has held up over the two months since.
We spread the programme over five weeks. It suited us β my husband's health meant we could not always do a full meeting, and they accommodated that without any fuss. The handbook at the end was worth the full cost on its own. Our daughter called it the most useful thing we had ever done for the family.
I organised the workshop for my parents as a practical kind of gift before my father retired. He had always said he would sort the paperwork "one day". Having someone come in and actually do it with them moved things along in a way that no amount of encouragement from the family had managed. Worth every ringgit.
I was a bit unsure what a records visit would actually involve β I thought it might just be someone telling me what I already knew. It was more practical than that. We went through every category, they helped me identify what was missing, and the labelling guide made sense. I have since upgraded to the full programme.
How the work unfolded
Kuching household, two retirees
A couple had accumulated forty years of household documents across six different boxes and two filing cabinets. Neither knew what the other had filed or where key originals were kept. Their adult children, living in Peninsular Malaysia, had no knowledge of the system at all.
Retirement Records Programme, 4 meetings
We ran a full inventory across both storage areas, then worked through categorisation and labelling over three further meetings. The final session produced a household binder and a printed handbook covering all document locations, with a simple index their children could follow remotely.
Six boxes reduced to one labelled shelf
The couple condensed six storage boxes into a single shelf of clearly labelled folders. Their daughter, visiting two months later, was able to locate the property documents she needed in under three minutes without assistance.
"We should have done this ten years ago. But at least it is done now."
Individual, pre-retirement planning
A professional in her early sixties wanted to begin organising her records before retirement but did not know where to start. She had scanned many documents informally but had no naming convention and no printed backup. The digital files were as disorganised as the physical ones.
Records Visit, then Retirement Programme
We began with a Records Visit to establish a basic structure, then she enrolled in the Retirement Records Programme six weeks later. The programme addressed both physical and digital file organisation using the scanning checklist we developed together.
Parallel physical and digital structure
Physical folders and digital folders now follow the same naming convention. She has a printed handbook covering both systems, and the scanning checklist identified eleven documents she needed to locate originals for before retirement.
"The checklist alone was worth it. I did not realise how many originals I was missing."
